Miriam Arentz – Brooches

Miriam Arentz began her career as a jewelry designer in 2005
Since then he has always looked for new inspiration and new ideas and has traveled many different paths.

Creativity offers scarab brooches made with a particular technique: guilloché;  a decorative methodology in which a very precise, intricate and repetitive motif is mechanically engraved. The technique used by the artist is now an extinct process. It was originally used for making pocket items such as cans, cups, pocket watch lids, lighters and ballpoint pens. For her beetles Miriam works using the arabesque engraving in combination with the enamel. The free use of this technique allows her to transform silver into a bright and colored gem, worn on the black silhouette of a beetle, to pay homage to the jewels created by nature.

The brooches are in silver and measure approximately 4-5 cm each.

Miriam Arenz’s collection was awarded at the Venice Design Week Jewelry Selection in 2021 and on that occasion selected by Creativity Oggetti
