Floor Mommersteeg received his training as a goldsmith in Schoonhoven and then graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam in 1992.
In 2020 he developed and founded The Pool project, a collective of jewelers from Amsterdam that aims to unite the skills of 14 different designers.
Floor has developed and mastered a wide range of techniques, from melting to interweaving and flattening nylon thread using heat, resulting in detailed networks that make it possible for her to construct jewels and objects, light and resistant, translucent and sparkling, sometimes with the addition of color, in two or three dimensions, shapes that can be both angular and expressive and soft and poetic. The coloring of the transparent material adds brilliance to the jewel.
Necklaces, brooches, rings, opaque or in progressions of ethereal hues: each object is an experiment in transparency, structure and scale, and even though they may appear as fragile as glass, the material and design make them solid, resistant and light as a feather .
Her pieces are exhibited all over the world.
