“….Jounghye Park’s delicate plant organisms represent a real semantic short circuit: the brooch on display, entitled “Spore”, is made of silver and silk delicately painted, the latter symbol of metamorphosis par excellence in the animal world. Jounghye is interested in roots, stems, shrubs, berries and seeds: a natural vocabulary she translates into ornaments recalling the ambiguity of how plants put down roots in one place and at the same time stretch out into space with their seeds. The lightness of silk evokes this fluctuation. ..”
