An English tradition that has its roots in the 18th century. Anne, Duchess of Bedford, an English noblewoman, gave rise to this custom because she began to feel hungry in the afternoon. To alleviate this hunger, he began to consume a light snack consisting of tea and small sweets. Over time, five o’clock tea became a widespread social tradition throughout the country.
Our five o’clock tea today is served in these beautiful Tea Bowls by Terry Davies.
