Fluxis

Rome-based architects and designers Mariangela Murgia and Alberto Catalano have created Fluxis, a contemporary jewelry project that combines design rigor and material experimentation. Through the use of 3D printing with PLA – a bioplastic derived from plant materials – and subsequent manual processing, they create elements that enhance the chromatic, luminous and tactile characteristics of the material. These components are then assembled using an elastic matrix system, conceived by the designers themselves, which gives the jewelry an organic and dynamic fit. Their works, often inspired by natural and organic forms, explore the relationship between object and wearer, challenging the traditional conventions of jewelry and transforming each creation into a wearable sculpture.
